Peer Review Process

The submitted manuscript is first reviewed by an editor. It will be evaluated internally to determine whether it fits the Journal of Applied Artificial Intelligence in Education (JAAIE) focus and scope, or contains any major methodological flaws and unacceptable similarity score (checked via Turnitin). Manuscripts deemed appropriate will be sent to at least two anonymous reviewers under a Double Blind Review process. Reviewers' comments will then be shared with the corresponding author for necessary revisions and responses.

The suggested decision will be evaluated during the editorial board meeting. Based on the reviewers’ feedback and the editorial assessment, the final decision will be communicated to the corresponding author. The peer review process typically takes approximately 4 to 12 weeks. Decision categories include:

  • Reject – Rejected manuscripts will not be published, and resubmission of the same version is not permitted in the Journal of Applied Artificial Intelligence in Education (JAAIE).
  • Resubmit for Review – The manuscript requires substantial revision and may be accepted after re-evaluation in a new round of peer review.
  • Accept with Revisions – Manuscripts accepted with revisions will be published by JAAIE provided that the necessary modifications (minor or major) are completed. The editor will review the revised manuscript to ensure the updates have been appropriately addressed.
  • Accept – The manuscript is accepted in its current form and requires no further modification prior to publication.
