Publication Ethics and Misconduct

Publication Ethics Statement

Global English Insights Journal is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal. This statement explains the ethical behavior of all parties involved in the act of publishing articles in this journal, as well as alleged research violations, including the authors, editor-in-chief, Editorial Board, peer reviewers, and publishers of PT. Lontara Digitech Indonesia. This statement is based on the COPE Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.

Guidelines for Journal Publication Ethics

Articles in Global English Insights Journal are an important building block in the development of a coherent and respected knowledge network. This is a direct reflection of the quality of the work of authors and the institutions that support them. Peer-reviewed articles support and embody scientific methods. Therefore, it is important to agree on the standards of ethical behavior expected of all parties involved in the act of publishing: authors, journal editors, peer reviewers, publishers, and the public.

PT. Lontara Digitech Indonesia, the publisher of Global English Insights Journal, takes the duty of guardianship over all stages of publishing very seriously, and we are aware of our ethical and other responsibilities. We are committed to ensuring that advertising, reprints, or other commercial revenue have no impact or influence on editorial decisions.

Alleged Research Infringement

Research errors include fabrication, falsification, citation manipulation, or plagiarism in producing, conducting, or reviewing research and writing articles by authors, or in reporting research results. When authors are found to be involved in research violations or other serious irregularities involving articles already published in a scientific journal, the Editor has the responsibility to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the scientific record.

In cases of suspected violations, the Editors and Editorial Board will use COPE’s best practices to help resolve complaints and deal fairly with violations. This includes an investigation of the allegations by the Editor. Submissions that contain these errors will be rejected. In cases where a published paper is found to contain such errors, a retraction may be issued and linked to the original article.

The first step involves determining the validity of the allegation and assessing whether it is consistent with the definition of research misconduct. It also includes determining whether the individual involved has any conflict of interest.

If substantial errors or irregularities are possible, allegations will be shared with the authors, who must provide detailed responses. Additional reviews or expert input (such as statistical reviewers) may be required. If infringement is unlikely, clarification, additional analysis, or corrections may be published as a letter to the editor.

Institutions are expected to conduct proper and thorough investigations of suspected scientific misconduct. Authors, journals, and institutions all share responsibility for ensuring the accuracy of the scientific record.

Publication Decisions

The editor is responsible for deciding which articles submitted to the journal should be published. Editors may be guided by the journal’s editorial board and limited by legal requirements regarding defamation, copyright infringement, and plagiarism. Editors may consult with other editors or reviewers in making decisions.

Complaints and Appeals

Global English Insights Journal has a clear procedure for handling complaints related to the journal, editorial staff, editorial board, or publisher. Complaints include issues related to editorial processes, citation manipulation, unfair behavior by editors/reviewers, and peer-review manipulation. All complaints will be handled according to COPE guidelines.

Post-Publication Discussion

The journal allows debate posts either on the website, by letter to the editor, or on moderated external platforms.

Fair Play

Editors evaluate manuscripts solely on their intellectual content, regardless of the authors’ race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, nationality, or political philosophy.
