Correction and Retraction

Correction and Retraction

DIGITECH: Journal of Digital Technology and Computer Science is committed to maintaining the integrity and completeness of the scholarly record. Changes to published articles are made only under specific circumstances and follow recognized best practices in academic publishing.

Correction (Erratum)

An Erratum is a statement from the authors of the original article describing corrections due to errors or omissions discovered after publication. Any impact on the article’s conclusions must be clearly stated. The corrected article remains available online, and an erratum notice is issued — freely accessible to all readers and linked to the corrected version.

Retraction

A Retraction indicates that the article should no longer be considered part of the scientific literature. Retractions may be issued when:

  • Findings are unreliable due to misconduct or honest error.
  • Findings were previously published elsewhere without proper citation, permission, or justification (duplicate publication).
  • The work is found to be plagiarized.
  • The research involves unethical practices or violates publication ethics.

To preserve the scholarly record, retracted articles remain online with a clear retraction notice that is freely accessible and directly linked to the article. Retractions may be initiated either by the authors or by the Editors/Publisher. All retraction notices will state the reason for retraction and who is responsible for the decision. If not all authors agree, this will be indicated in the notice. In rare cases involving legal or ethical violations, the Publisher may remove the article entirely, but the bibliographic information will be retained.

Publisher’s Note

A Publisher’s Note informs readers that an article has been corrected after publication due to typographical or production errors caused by the publisher that affect the integrity of the metadata (e.g., title, author list, or byline) or significantly impact comprehension. In such cases, the original article is replaced with the corrected version, and the Publisher’s Note is made freely available to all readers.

Minor typographical errors that do not affect comprehension or scientific content may be corrected at the Publisher’s discretion.

Implementation Details

  • The date of any correction will appear on the corrected article.
  • An article may be replaced with a corrected version only within one year of its publication date.
  • For articles older than one year, corrections are made via a Publisher’s Note.
  • DIGITECH follows recognized standards for publication ethics, including the COPE Guidelines for Retracting Articles.
