Pendidikan Karakter Berbasis Empati sebagai Strategi Guru dalam Menanggulangi Bullying di Sekolah Dasar

Bullying in elementary school environments is a serious issue that can hinder students’ social, emotional, and academic development. Schools, which should be safe and supportive spaces, often become places where harmful aggressive behaviors like bullying emerge. This article aims to provide a deeper understanding of the importance of empathy-based character education as a preventive effort to combat bullying in elementary schools. The method used is library research, involving the collection and analysis of relevant data from books, scientific journals, and related articles. The results show that empathy-based character education can foster mutual respect, care for others, and enhance students’ social awareness. This form of education also contributes to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment, reducing the likelihood of bullying. It can be concluded that empathy-based character education is an effective preventive approach to instill positive values, strengthen peer relationships, and establish a school culture that is safe, welcoming, and free from verbal or physical abuse.
