Abstract

Local wisdom-based character education is a vital approach in shaping a younger generation with strong character and respect for cultural values. This study aims to examine the implementation of character education through a local wisdom approach, carried out synergistically by the tri-center of education: schools, families, and communities. The research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. The sample consists of five elementary schools in Bone Regency that have implemented local wisdom-based character education. Data collection instruments include in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis. Thematic analysis was used to identify key themes emerging from the data. The findings reveal that integrating local wisdom into school-based character education positively strengthens students' character, fostering discipline, responsibility, and solidarity. The study recommends reinforcing local wisdom-based character education through teacher training and collaborative programs between schools and communities. This research contributes insights into the critical role of the tri-center of education in student character development by leveraging the potential of local wisdom.
